Listening to: Nothing
I think these lyrics are just brilliant. They were written by the wonderful William Gadsby.
Jesus, the Lord, my Saviour is,
My Shepherd, and my God;
My light, my strength, my joy, my bliss;
And I His grace record.
Whate’er I need in Jesus dwells,
And there it dwells for me;
’Tis Christ my earthen vessel fills
With treasures rich and free.
Mercy and truth and righteousness,
And peace, most richly meet
In Jesus Christ, the King of grace,
In Whom I stand complete.
As through the wilderness I roam,
His mercies I’ll proclaim;
And when I safely reach my home,
I’ll still adore His name.
'Worthy the Lamb,' shall be my song,
'For He for me was slain';
And me with all the heavenly throng
Shall join, and say, 'Amen.'
'Whate’er I need in Jesus dwells, And there it dwells for me'.
Woah! In forming the creation by and for Christ, the Father has committed Himself and His Son to it and us for eternity. The Living God has bound Himself to us in the gospel- the reason and basis for the whole creation. In taking our flesh and blood in His Incarnation the Man from heaven has forever become one with humanity. The fulness of God lives in Him, and He is for us. All that God the Father has placed in Jesus Christ is there for us, and we're told that He was pleased to have ALL of his fulness live in the Incarnate Son!
How satisfying, full, complete, generous, and free is the gift of the LORD Jesus! Even to the point of his cross. The King of grace, indeed.
